Eric Morrison-Smith

Alliance for Boys and Men of Color

Eric Morrison-Smith is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color (ABMoC), a California-based network advancing racial, gender, and economic justice through grassroots organizing and policy advocacy. He previously served as ABMoC’s Policy Director, leading the network’s statewide policy strategy, operations, and communications.

As Executive Director, Eric works to center directly impacted people and grassroots organizations to build power, dismantle harmful systems, and transform the material conditions of Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Under Eric’s leadership, ABMoC has helped pass landmark legislation and secure over $121 million through the California state budget for youth leadership, violence prevention, economic opportunity, and community infrastructure.

Before ABMoC, Eric held positions at PolicyLink, the San Diego Workforce Partnership, and RISE San Diego, where he focused on youth organizing, equity-centered strategy, and cross-sector partnerships. He serves on several California state advisory committees, including the California Department of Public Health’s Sexual Violence Prevention Program, the California Youth Apprenticeship Program, and the Public Health Institute’s State of Equity initiative. Eric is also a board member of Mid-City CAN and the Center on Policy Initiatives, and sits on the Policy and Advocacy Committee for Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties.

Eric holds a Master of Public Affairs from UC Berkeley. Outside of work, Eric is an avid reader, trains in mixed martial arts, loves cooking, and will watch anything comic-book related.
