Nat De Jesus joins Catalyst as Manager of Programs and Learning

We are pleased to welcome Nat De Jesus to the Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties team as manager of programs and learning, where they will lead the development and execution of high-quality learning opportunities for Catalyst’s diverse membership base in the San Diego & Imperial County region.

Nat is a true local, having grown up in Logan Heights, and comes to Catalyst with over five years of community and digital organizing experience and a passion for technology accessibility, authentic representation, and advocacy for communities impacted by systemic exclusion.

When asked what they are looking forward to in joining Catalyst Nat shared their excitement. “I’m so happy to be working with such an awesome team of individuals. Using my lived and learned experiences for a greater goal is what keeps me plugged in to the work and I’m excited to affect change within the philanthropic sector.”

Nat is no stranger to the work we do at Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties. They devoted three years to San Diego Leaders, a project fiscally sponsored by Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties that empowers and equips community members to become decision-makers in government. Nat has also facilitated voter outreach and educational support at Engage San Diego, a network of social justice, nonprofit groups working to increase civic and voter engagement in San Diego County’s New American Majority communities.

They continued, “Catalyst took a chance on me back in 2019 and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that opportunity and the work I did with San Diego Leaders. Putting Catalyst’s vision into action to empower diverse individuals like me to be part of the decision-making in our city makes a big difference to our communities of color.”

Nat’s depth of knowledge and passion to uplift and empower historically marginalized communities will greatly enhance our program offerings and continue our work to deliver high-quality learning opportunities to members that are impacting our region’s binational collaborative efforts, communities, and beyond.
