CEO’s Letter to the Board
Dear San Diego Grantmakers members, partners and key stakeholders,
I am writing to let you know that San Diego Grantmakers President and CEO Nancy Jamison notified the SDG Board of Directors and staff that she will be retiring from her position at the end of 2018.
I know we will all miss the tremendous leadership, enthusiasm, and good spirit she has brought to our region’s philanthropic community these past thirteen years.
The good news is that under Nancy’s guidance, SDG is thriving. At our recent Annual Conference, I heard several members comment on how much SDG has grown since the “old days”. Our finances are strong, our staff is extraordinarily talented, we have recently committed to a compelling and powerful new Strategic Framework and we are pleased to be a part of the Philanthropy CA alliance with Northern California Grantmakers and Southern California Grantmakers.
Our board will convene in the coming weeks to develop a thoughtful and inclusive transition plan and search process. I expect that we will be calling on you all to offer input and support as we map out this important leadership transition.
I wanted to share the letter Nancy submitted to the board about her pending retirement. Her passion and appreciation for the organization, our community and the many friendships she has developed is so evident in her words. I know that she will be personally reaching out to connect with as many of you as possible in the months ahead before her departure.
Should you have any questions relating to this announcement please contact me [email protected].
Best wishes,
Steve Eldred
San Diego Grantmakers Board Chair
