Last year, we hosted a full-day trip to Imperial County, diving into the region’s intricacies and tapping into the wisdom of impactful community based organizations. Your feedback was crystal clear: you wanted more time. We heard you, we’re returning, and this time, we’re extending the journey to two days.
Join us for this immersive, overnight experience that will give you a comprehensive understanding of the impacts of environmental and climate issues including health disparities, job and infrastructure opportunities, community leadership, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to foster meaningful relationships with community groups, leaders, and experts who are advocating about these topics. We will also discuss the emerging lithium energy market, and how it benefits and potentially harms the people who live and work there. Over the course of the two days, participants will engage in informative discussions, tour areas including Calipatria, the Salton Sea, and Calexico, and speak with community members to delve into the heart of the region’s challenges, hopes, and visions.
Your $500 registration fee covers transportation, meals, engaging tours, as well as honorarium payments to community groups and experts who make this enriching experience possible.
