Fundamentals: Grantmaking 101
Thursday, April 20, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
As part of Catalyst’s flagship Fundamentals skills-building series, Grantmaking 101 introduces new foundation and corporate philanthropy staff to core grantmaking competencies through an equity lens. Participants gain a fundamental understanding of both the practicalities and nuances of effective grantmaking, including:
- The processes underpinning grant applications, RFPs, grant agreements, and reporting;
- Options for structuring applications/grants and developing a decision-making matrix;
- Recognizing and navigating power dynamics in relationships and other components of trust-based philanthropy.
Facilitated by Catalyst’s Director of Programs & Initiatives Aline Racic, Grantmaking 101 is an ideal starting point for individuals and organizations new to the grantmaking process and interested in learning the best path toward equitable grantmaking. Complementary programs in our 2023 Fundamentals series will be announced shortly.
