Catalyst Board Names Interim President

We are pleased to announce that Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties’ vice president of Collaboration & Special Initiatives, Megan Thomas, has been appointed to serve as the organization’s interim president.

Thomas has served in increasingly expanded roles over her five years with Catalyst. Her current portfolio includes spearheading Catalyst’s collaborative funder groups, leading racial equity efforts, and serving as strategic program lead for special initiatives.

“Megan is a proven leader who has demonstrated deep expertise, sound judgment, and strategic thinking time and time again throughout her tenure,” Catalyst Board Chair Warren Ruis said. “We are confident in her ability to lead the organization as interim president, and the board looks forward to working with her in this expanded role as we plan for the future,” he stated.

The appointment comes a month after former president & CEO Debbie McKeon stepped down. The board has established an executive search committee who will work closely with Thomas in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

“As we look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of 2021, I could not be more pleased to take on this role or more confident in Catalyst and its team,” Thomas stated. “We look forward to continuing to bring together funders, partners, and community members to craft solutions that tap into our shared strengths to ensure health, safety, and opportunity for all residents in San Diego and Imperial Counties,” she said.
