Presented by the Imperial Valley Community Foundation and Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, the second session of our Imperial Valley non-profit board leadership series will dive into the financial world of non-profits. This session will demystify the crucial financial documents you need to know, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.

Join us to learn the essentials of budget development and oversight, financial statements, and meticulous record-keeping. Participants will also learn introductory knowledge on effective grant writing and other funding resources.


  • Master the art of budget development and oversight.
  • Understand the importance of financial statements and record-keeping.
  • Get introduced to the fundamentals of grant writing and explore various funding
    resources, including direct and indirect costs.

  • Individuals who successfully complete all four sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion.
  • While it is not mandatory to attend each session, we highly encourage you to participate
    in as many as possible to fully benefit from this comprehensive series.
