Border Butterflies Project California Funder Briefing
Friday, September 23, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
California has long been a leader in immigrant justice and LGBTQ rights; in the face of growing right-wing sentiment and policy across the country, the state has an even more important role to play. California continues to be the top destination for asylum-seekers, and LGBTQ migrants face systemic challenges as they seek to cross the border and find safety and belonging.
Please join us for an intimate briefing for California funders about how we can invest in the infrastructure needed to make California a safe, welcoming, and inclusive place for LGBTQ and all migrants. The briefing will feature the work of the Border Butterflies Project, a unique coalition that supports LGBTQ migrants with essential services while building grassroots power for systemic change.
Co-hosted by The California Endowment, Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, Evelyn & Walter Haas Jr. Fund, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, Grove Foundation, Latino Community Foundation, Weingart Foundation, and Women’s Foundation California. Spanish interpretation and live transcription will be offered.
