Bridging the Gaps: Advancing Immigrant and Refugee Health in California Through Strategic Philanthropic Action
Wednesday, June 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Over the past year, immigrant communities have faced growing political and rhetorical attacks alongside federal and state policy changes that have reduced access to healthcare, food assistance, and other critical supports. These actions deepen existing inequities and exacerbate the social and economic factors that negatively impact health outcomes.
Drawing from findings in GCIR’s upcoming report, “Bridging the Gaps: Advancing Immigrant and Refugee Health in California Through Strategic Philanthropic Action,” this webinar aims to create a learning space for funders and philanthropic partners to better understand the intersection of health and immigration in California and the implications for philanthropy. Together, we will explore how current federal and state actions are affecting immigrant communities’ well-being and discuss why investing at this intersection is essential to advancing health equity. Although the data informing the report is California-focused, the learnings and implications of health and immigration intersections can be applied to contexts across the country. Come join us to learn more!
