2026 Philanthropy in Sacramento Day
Tuesday, April 7 - Wednesday, April 8
Philanthropy California invites you to join our 2026 Philanthropy in Sacramento Day, coming up on Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8. This is an opportunity to connect with funders from across the state, build alignment and strategic coordination around key cross-regional issues, educate and advocate with state policy makers and agencies.
With turmoil and dysfunction emanating from the federal level, the impacts of H.R. 1 implementation, and increasingly hostile immigration enforcement activity, California communities and the nonprofit organizations serving them are facing many threats and challenges.
Funders have expressed dire concerns over the potential cuts to essential resources such as health care access, food and nutritional supports, disaster recovery, and housing and homelessness prevention programs for millions of Californians. There’s growing apprehension over violent, unlawful actions perpetrated by ICE and federal law enforcement in California and elsewhere around the country. This is an opportunity to uplift a unified philanthropic voice on these issues to representatives in our state Assembly and Senate, state agencies, and advocate for a state budget that will more effectively address some of these concerns.
Participants in the Philanthropy in Sacramento program will:
- Connect with peers from across the State working on policy issues
- Elevate key topics impacting communities across California
- Gain direct experience engaging with legislative offices and state agencies
Target Audience
This program is open to members of Catalyst, Northern California Grantmakers, and Southern California Grantmakers.
