Welcoming Two New Board Members: Diana Ross and Eric Morrison-Smith 

We are pleased to announce that Diana Ross, executive director of Mid-City CAN, and Eric Morrison-Smith, executive director of the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color, have joined the Catalyst Board of Directors. 

In the words of our CEO, Megan Thomas, “Diana and Eric bring more than expertise — they are trusted collaborators, with deep relationships and a proven track record of impact. They’ve been dedicated partners with Catalyst for many years, serving alongside our members on committees and collaboratives, and bring invaluable experience navigating the intersections of philanthropy, policyand community-led change.” 

Diana Ross leads Mid-City CAN, a collaborative advancing youth opportunity and justice through community leadership. Under her leadership, Mid-City CAN has championed initiatives such as San Diego’s first no-cost youth transit pass, the creation of safe community spaces like skate parks, and a restorative justice alternative to incarceration. A San Diego native, Diana is routinely cited by media, including KPBS, Univision, and Voice of San Diego, and holds degrees from UCLA and the University of San Diego. 

Eric Morrison-Smith leads the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color, where he steers statewide policy strategy and grassroots partnerships to advance racial and gender justice. His work has helped secure over $121 million in public funding for youth leadership, community safety, and economic opportunity. Eric also serves on several state advisory committees and holds a Master of Public Affairs from UC Berkeley.
