The Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA) is launching the Executive Grantmaker Fellowship (EGF), an 18-month offline and online fellowship to prepare today’s leader in environmental philanthropy, for tomorrow.

The Fellowship will support participants to:

  • Deepen connections amongst environmental grantmakers in leadership, to foster connection, collaboration and innovation
  • Enhance capacity for impactful philanthropy, rooted in real time data and enduring practices of equity
  • Strengthen leadership skills and road test strategies for navigating organizational challenges
  • Increase resilience and well-being for leaders, ensuring sustained commitment to their mission over the long term

Over the course of 18 months, fellows will engage in a curated blend of offline and online opportunities, workshops, peer support and coaching sessions, in support of co-learning. The EGF offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of environmental grantmakers.

A very limited number of scholarships will be made available. There will be four in-person retreats dispersed during the 18-month fellowship period in the following locations:

  • Stevenson, Washington (Fellowship launch)
  • Washington D.C.
  • COP30, in Belém, Brazil
  • The Hague, Netherland

The Executive Grantmaker Fellowship is a timely and necessary opportunity to build relationships, perspective, and tools for resilience in the face of authoritarian and regressive politics, sharp division, and existential challenges to people and planet.

Target Audience

Leaders who identify as an environmental grantmaking organization (such as a founder, president, trustee, board leader and board member, or other executive position), or support staff for an executive leader are especially encouraged to attend this webinar.
