DESCRIPTION:- The COVID-19 global pandemic defined 2020, and it will continue to impact much of the world in the foreseeable future. SUMMARY:2021: The End of the Fossil Fuel Era
DESCRIPTION:- This is a joint webinar hosted by Climate and Energy Funders Group (https://biodiversityfunders.org/programs/cefg/) (CEFG) and the Health and Environmental Funders Network (https://hefn.org/) (HEFN) and will highlight some of the key leaders of Stop the Money Pipeline strategies and initiatives as well as those engaged in regulatory strategies. Stop the Money Pipeline has grown to be a network of 140 organizations and nearly forty thousand people who are working to hold the financial sector accountable for its role in the climate crisis (https://biodiversityfunders.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edb607a8caa13777ecc6879f2&id=2e6d6be9dc&e=b49d90268d). There are five campaign coalitions that are active members of Stop the Money Pipeline ― the BlackRock’s Big Problem campaign network, the Insure our Future campaign network, the Chase campaign network, the Climate-Safe Pensions Network, and the Divest-Ed college campus network. Youth climate activists are also poised to launch a new distributed campaign in January 2021 targeting all institutions that continue to enable the fossil fuel industry through financing and funding. All of these efforts take on increased significance in the context of a Biden administration and COP 26 around the corner as stronger policy and regulatory controls will only be feasible with increased public pressure.

SUMMARY:Equitable Vaccine Distribution with Blue Shield and the State of California
DESCRIPTION:- March 1st marked the beginning of California’s transition to a Third Party Administrator (TPA), Blue Shield of California, to manage vaccine administration statewide. As this transition occurs, public-private partnerships will become more crucial than ever. Join us to hear from Blue Shield directly about their work, and to hear from state leaders on how they plan to coordinate with the TPA and continue to center equity in this next phase of vaccine distribution. Speakers will highlight key opportunities for philanthropy, and investments that are needed now to shore up our communities in ways that will engender long-term sustainability well beyond the current crisis.

SUMMARY:The Ethos of Being Trust-Based Session 4 | Confronting and Correcting Historical Power Imbalance
DESCRIPTION:- Trust-based philanthropy is anchored in an understanding of power and privilege, historical and systemic racism and structural oppression, and how these shape people’s realities in profoundly different ways. As grantmakers, we have a responsibility to confront the reality that philanthropy originated from and has often contributed to systemic inequities, both in the ways wealth is accumulated and its dissemination is controlled. While these discussions may be challenging and difficult, this type of self-reflection is fundamental to the work of trust-based philanthropy. As individuals and institutions, we must be willing to recognize historical trauma and systemic power, examine our own relationship to power and money, and be willing to give up some of that power and control in a spirit of service and collaboration with those who are closer to the issues at hand. In this session, we will:
